There Will Be Words 11/19: Re-Cap

From Left: Rachel Katherine Alexander, Jordan Callais, Phil Silberman, and Ryan Edlinger

“This is the way the world ends…” The Mime (Ryan Edlinger) lays down the card displaying these words and searches frantically for the remainder of the quote, which he can’t find. His face strains as he bursts into a silent scream—the silence finally broken by the sounds of a bustling café.

On Saturday, November 19, Vagabond Theatre Group presented its premier event in the series There Will Be Words: A New Play Workshop. The audience filled the back section of Trident Booksellers & Café to watch a group of young actors present two original short plays, The Hollow Men and The Watchmaker, by local playwright Greg Davis. As a playwright with an affinity for the absurd and a keen balance of wit and poignancy, Davis gave audience, actors, and staff alike two fantastic plays to ignite discussions that followed the readings.

Thanks to everyone who came out! We are already in the midst of planning the next There Will Be Words, so keep an eye out for information on how you can be a part of it.
