Tyler Brewer is the Assistant Stage Manager for Burning up the Dictionary (tickets on sale now!), but in his OTHER life, Tyler is an SEO account specialist, which basically means that he helps your company navigate Google! Tyler says that if he could go on a date with one celebrity, it would be “Neil Patrick Harris, hands down.”
What is your first theatre memory?
My first theater memory was getting passed down the tradition of my middle school drama club: opening night the 8th graders would tell us their bit of widsom, “A little girl from Kansas once said, if you can’t make ’em laugh, F*** ’em hard!” We ROFLed and went right on stage.
What is the best story you have from a first date? (can be a terrible first date, or maybe the best one ever!)
In college I went on a date with this guy and we walked around on a beautiful day for hours, and then he said he had to go back to his car. I assumed it was because he wanted to leave, but it was really to put more coins in the meter so we could keep talking 🙂
Do you think celebrating Valentine’s Day is corny?
Not at all. I think it’s corny to broadcast it to everyone else, because, hey, you’re not trying to impress other people that you have someone to love. It should be about making just your significant other feel special.
What is the best gift you ever received from a significant other?
When I first started my career out of school, I carried a backpack with all my things. Despite having a real job and working in a fancy building, I still felt like an intern. My boyfriend is a good listener and after months of hearing me losing confidence in walking to work, he got me a really nice laptop bag for big people. The fact that I didn’t ask and he just knew was what made it the best gift.
What’s your favorite love (or anti-love) song? Why?
The Book of Love by the Magnetic Fields. They describe it long and boring because its full of charts and pictures and instructions for dancing, but it doesn’t matter because as long as its you reading to me, you can read my anything.
