How did you get involved in theatre? What is your first theatre memory?
I first got involved in theatre in my 5th grade production of The Wizard of Oz. I played a co-coroner which turned out to be my acting debut as well as my acting sendoff. For that first show I also was the person in charge of creating the lighting effect for the tornado scene. I did not participate in theatre that much during middle school, but worked as a general techie during High School. When I started college I became involved in the theatre department and Center for the Arts at Northeastern and the rest is history.
If you weren’t in theatre, what would you do?
If I wasn’t working in theatre I would increase the work I do for event/production companies. I have a great love for music and know that a light show can make all the difference. I have been working more event production jobs lately and hope to work lighting for a concert in the near future.
If theatre is not your full-time job, what do you do on the side? What do you enjoy about it and how does it connect to your life in the theatre?
My full time job is working for Raytheon Company in Andover MA. I work in supply chain, specifically procurement, purchasing components and major assemblies which are assembled into defense related products. I enjoy the job because what we do at Raytheon protects our right to free speech. Without the ability to have artistic freedom there would be much less meaningful theatre.
How did you get involved in this production? What has been your favorite thing about working on the play so far?
I got involved with this production by having worked with Vagabond since its inception. I am excited to be able to work in a new theatrical space, Rehearsal Hall A, because it is a new and blank canvas. Many people may avoid that space because it is not a traditional theatrical performance space, but that is what makes the challenge more exciting.
What’s your favorite love (or anti-love) song? Why?
My favorite love song would be the medley between Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. The song is great because it takes all the corny and terrible love songs that have been beaten to death and gives them a new life and new meaning.

Lucas graduated from Northeastern University with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Theatre. In his Theatre Minor he focused on technical theater with an emphasis on Lighting Design. Lucas spent 5 years at Northeastern working for both the Theatre Department and the Center for the Arts where he held many positions including Lighting Designer, Master Electrician and Assistant to the Technical Director. He is a founding member of the Vagabond Theatre Group, currently freelances as a theatrical electrician in Boston, and recently ended an 18 month internship at Central Square Theater. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Northeastern University.
